Each week during our Centennial Year we published a new Centennial Celebration Moment for you to share at your Chapter meetings. It will be a short reading about some aspect of the history of the Order of DeMolay, with a few follow-up questions to highlight how these stories might relate to you and your Chapter today.

Every Chapter is encouraged to hold one of these discussions at each meeting. If your Chapter meets weekly, you will have a new topic each week. If your Chapter only meets once or twice a month, you can choose the ones you like the best, or you can hold some of the discussions at rehearsals, planning meetings or even sports team practices. You should plan for not more than 2-minutes of reading time, and 5-8 minutes of discussion time.

These may be presented by any advisor or active member who reads well in public and who can facilitate a brief Chapter discussion based on the questions provided. Some Chapters may wish to rotate these duties among the officers so that everyone has an opportunity to read and lead, and to improve their personal presentation skills.

This is an opportunity to have a brief program of history and education about the Order of DeMolay in your Chapter at each meeting. Through these brief discussions you will be teaching your members how to look at history and interpret it to learn its valuable lessons. To generate good discussion, ask the questions provided, or create your own by asking, “What?” “So What?” and “What if?” Remind the members that in the discussions, there are no right or wrong answers—just what you think and how you feel about the information shared with you.
