The medallion is suspended from a fine chain of bright yellow gold. It consists of a twelve sided rayed medallion done in bright and brushed gold in bas relief. In the center of the medallion on a circular background of Florentine gold is a flat type DeMolay emblem done in bright yellow gold and enameled in red, white, and blue, and superimposed on a winged background which is surmounted by an inscription in bright yellow gold lettering on a blue enameled background which reads, “Past Master Councilor.” The jewel is 1 1/4″square.
